The above ranking was the most popular keyword searches by Malaysian in the last of 12 months. It is cleared that those keywords were not helped too much for the Amazon affiliate publishers doing their business here. Those keywords reflected the interests and behavior of Malaysian when surfing internet. It was so bad when there were not enough data to specify what products they were looking the most. Most of them were looking for services instead of products.

Although the above statistics did not specifies the age of the internet users. However, based on the keywords, I can assume that the ages were in between 15 to 45 because of the Facebook, Youtube, Yahoo and Games were in the top searches.

The others factor to identify is Malaysia a good and potential location to promote the products is the tendency of buying online. Unfortunately, there were not enough data showing the habit of buying online for internet users in Malaysia.

As the number of credit cards in Malaysia had declined from 10.8 million at the end of 2009 to 8.7 million (as Dec 2010), caused by the implementation of the RM50 tax imposed on owners of each principal credit card. Yet there are still not enough data to show the trend of buying online.

Even though there were around 8.7 million credit cards holders, yet still not enough data to showing the habit of purchasing online activity. Showing the tendency of purchasing online activity is in very low rate in Malaysia presently.

As the statistics shown above, Malaysia is not appropriate place to promote products and have less potential of purchasing products online. My assumption based on:

No keywords searches shows of interest in any products
No tendency of buying online or it is in very low rate

As the above factors, it makes difficult for Amazon affiliate publishers to achieve their sales here in Malaysia. Success in promoting products mean the ability to sell and the internet users bought the products you are promoted. So it is advisable switched to other market locations where they have higher buying rate online and interest in products. Those places were the most potential to get sold of products.
